Cyanotype Print

I haven't had much time to work on artwork - been busy prepping the ground to plant grass in the back yard and dealing with a bunch of other things in life... I actually have had very little desire recently to do any more artwork or photography. But here and there I have taken a few hours to do some cyanotypes. Here is one that I recently did.

Cyanotype Print

This is one of the cyanotypes I had been working on about a month ago... I had a bunch of different attempts - because the chemicals I mixed don't react quite the same as the chemicals that I had used before. The exposure time is radically different and so I had to do a bunch of experiments! But this was my best print out of this batch.

Cyanotype: Developing

Well, I haven't had ANY time to do any kinda artwork.... And I haven't really been sure if I really want to keep doing artwork at all... but then I think that I have just needed an escape.... Like my whole life has kinda been turned upside down... and I just have been trying to catch up... I think that I have began to get overwhelmed by all that I have to do and all that needs to be done and I think that I just needed an escape ... to feel something that is "normal" in my life... something that I would have been doing before my dad was sick/ passed away, and before there were all these things to do and get the house ready/ pack - ect! So I FINALLY have gotten around to taking my negatives and exposing them with the cyanotype mixture I created. This is 2 of them being exposed.

Cyanotype print

Been working with some traditional / alternative printing -- Here are 2 of my first cyanotype prints. I have a few more planned. I was surprised at how easy they were to make and that you could make them at home without needing much.  -- I'm also preparing for some polaroid lifts/ transfers that I want to do pretty soon!
