Here is another article written about the art exhibition I was recently in.

This is the piece I have in the show - it is number 1049. It is a sculpture piece made from found objects. A figure that transforms into a tree, he is standing on shards of a cast iron pipe which is secured to a curved sheet of glass. The piece is titled: "Man of Bathsaida"

New Paintings

Soooo I am still trying to figure out the look and feel that I want.... But I have been trying to juggle collage (paper, found objects) dripping- running layers of paint - a bit of abstraction and then loose sketching... I LOVE the layers of paint... I always find small sections of a whole pice that I just love the look and feel and visual texture - but just lil random areas in it -- So I am still working on making a look that I like and I can repeat as a style... still trying different things out.... But here are a few of the pieces that I have been working on...

This piece below will be sketched on and then painted over the layers - so It is still a work in progress....

Parts to Make a Whole

Since I have been back home and have been looking for what kinda artwork I really want to focus on... I have decided that I want to be "responsible" with the things that I already have... OR... Is it that I just want to CLEAN up and make room?! haha - In either way, I had decided to work on some more Assemblage work. In the last few days I have made about 10 new pieces from stuff that I have been collecting over the last year or so. Here are a few UNFINISHED pieces...

I am always picking up lil random junk off the ground... things that just catch my eye... I think that it is really cool to just find something that you find artistically interesting or "valuable." Then to piece it all together to create something new with it. I also like that if everyone was to pick up a few random things and EVEN just toss it in the trash the city would look better and save money/ people would feel better about what they are doing... - the lil things.
