Polaroid Camera

Well, yesterday I had worked all day on printmaking -printing the fisherman print, and then 2 screen prints that I will add on here soon. After that I went to see about buying fuji 100c film to test my new polaroid camera... but they were out of film! But it wasn't ALL a waste of time.. I found out that I need a battery and was able to buy his LAST ONE! =)

Today I cleaned the old battery attachments, and then discovered that I needed to clean the rollers.  - I love all the lil aspects of what goes into having the camera. The ways that it was put together and works. I think about today - how we have these 8 gig memory of 100s of images that we can see on a screen in seconds... and how these old cameras were shooting "INSTANT FILM" - BUT... you have to figure out your settings of focus, lighting, type of film- ect with these lil knobs and pull levers - Then shoot, pull the plastic, pull the image, "preheat" it for a minute, and then peal it.  -- ALL of that for 1 INTANT IMAGE... and you only have 10 shots to make the "perfect" shot. - I love it!

Well I bought the film today and got it all loaded in the camera - couldn't wait to get home to do a test shot so I pulled over and shot at this location I knew about - I figured I would get a lil of each color in the shot. -- The first one I shot came out BLACK - but it was because I had to figure out which film setting would work. The second came out great! I was really happy to learn that the camera works!! I am saving the other shots for another day - to create some specifically thought out shots - perhaps focussing on a series of work.
