Cyanotype Print

This is one of the cyanotypes I had been working on about a month ago... I had a bunch of different attempts - because the chemicals I mixed don't react quite the same as the chemicals that I had used before. The exposure time is radically different and so I had to do a bunch of experiments! But this was my best print out of this batch.

Dad Made My Mom Dinner

Ok sooo for those of you that don't know... My dad died not to long ago... And my mom was just feeling really down - It was night, maybe 9 PM, her and I were here working on things. She started to tell me she was really hungry but didn't want to make anything... She said that she wished she just had something in a can that she could eat. -- Not have to see about making something. =)

Well, I told here to hold on ... and I ran out to my dads van. It just so happened that earlier in the day I had been working on something and had gotten tools out of my dads truck. And while I was in there a bag caught my attention. It was a bunch of canned food that my dad would keep in his car to give to homeless people... the cans had pull off tops so they didn't need a can opener. So I grabbed one and ran into the house and told my mom that dad made her dinner... she cried and lol a little and enjoyed her dinner. =)

Snail in the Tree

I was watering the grass and saw this snail like 4 feet up in the tree on this leaf... I think that it just kept going UP... and then didn't know where to go after it got onto one of the outer limbs on the leaf! But it made me kinda laugh and smile!

It's a lil like receiving a gift - I get a surprise from each email! I just love to see the different ways and things that people enjoy shooting - Seeing things from their points of view.

Polaroids (Fuji 100C) Negative Recovered

This is a Polaroid (Fuji 100C) negative that I recovered - Then attempted to scan in and recreate -- I need a different scanner to get the image to look like the printed version - But I have been enjoying the effects that I am able to recreate/ the process that I have been attempting.

1 Month

Well, It has been one month today since my dad passed away...

It is funny because they always tell you not to make any major decision after the death of someone close - ect... But in about the last month or so I have been faced with, loosing my dad, having to figure out what I will do about school, finding a new home to live in, a new job, working on the house, going thru and getting rid of my things, deciding on quitting artwork or what to do about it... -- it is like everything that the BIG LIFE DECISIONS -- I am facing them and having to make choices ALL right NOW! -- My mom is in the same boat... We have like no real time to THINK... just kinda keep DOING... And we have no real answers for any of them... But the pool is fixed... someone asked me if I was going to use it.. I said I have NO TIME to swim.... but then it hit me I could shoot underwater shots!! - Not sure that I will have time to do that either / the house might be sold in the next few days... we have a few cash buyers looking into it... ... .... I just feel so tired. Tired of all the choices and changes going on... I just keep waiting for things to kinda level out a little....

It was really sad too... like it is the ODD things that get to me about my dad being gone.... Yesterday I was eating jelly on my toast... and I was thinking that "he" bought that jelly.... and when it is gone... it will be gone... I guess in some ways it was a very real representation of his life... a day just comes and they are gone.... sad. -- Hard to believe that it was about this time a month ago that the Dr. said he had made a turn for the worse and we were running to get back into see him.... Seems like 6 months ago! -- I had a dream about him a while back - He was just sitting by the edge of my bed and we were just talking.... it was nice. Suddenly I asked him.... "wait, aren't you dead?" He shrugged his shoulders and said nothing... and then I think that I realized that I could keep talking to him so we talked... =) I just remember in the dream, that I heard his laugh - and I missed it. -- It was a good dream!

Finders Keepers

I was going thru and looking at some of my old work and I found a piece that I had started a couple years back... But then I guess I saved it to finish working on it later and it was not put with the rest of my work... sooo -- Today I found it, pulled it out and finished it! At the time I think I just felt that it needed a little something more...

Reworking Polaroid (Fuji 100c) Negative

I scanned in the negative and then tried to make it into a positive and rework it in PS. It didn't work the way I had hoped. I still plan on using the negative to print with either and enlarger or as a contact print. -- Maybe even a cyanotype...

But... I did continue to play with the negative and came up with this painterly kinda look and feel .... I think that I kinda like it... I just am not sure that I can really duplicate it??? I'll have to shoot some more and then see... Here are a few different versions of what I did....
