Beach

Yesterday I walked down to a location I have been wanting to check out... just never have any time! I got out onto the sand and the location was cool and all... But what I found interesting was just the light and the way I felt being on a totally new-to-me beach... I felt very ?? just in awe and everything felt new and fresh.. almost no one was there... It was just a cool and exciting feeling.. kinda like the way I image people that live far from the ocean - how they feel when they are there or are there for the first time in a long time...

I was looking for these caves and arches and cool stuff like that - had to walk SOO far to get to where I wanted to go and then I was STILL blocked off...  ... But then I was thinking about how it is like Life... always keeps you coming back for more... I also found a cool place for me to shoot underwater... I ordered something to be able to shoot underwater shots! So I'll hopefully have some of those coming up on here soon!

Summer Almost Burnt ALL Up!

This summer has just been going by so fast!!

I thought that I was going to have more time to shoot and to work finishing more artwork - but it just hasn't been the case... I think in the next few weeks I will really have to cut away some time to set up and do some shoots!

But on the UP SIDE -- Peter Frank had an art show - and he gave me credit for assisting him. Which was really cool and generous of him!  I also was at Greg Miller's show in Santa Monica - and Peter introduced me to him and a bunch of other people. Kinda really made me realize that I want to start doing really LARGE pieces!!  I had been considering it after thinking about doing a 4 foot by 6 foot etching... -- I really want to do it - JUST to DO it.. but I would need to soak the paper in the pool or something... plus the paper would cost me around 100 bucks a sheet.. and WHERE would I store the plate/ print when I am done??

I have also been really blessed to be working with Fatemeh! I have been learning a lot of lil things that kinda just FIT into everything that I am doing and have thought about doing... and I think that it is just really nice to work with someone whose work I really like. And who is just such a great person to be around/ work for. I can't wait to see her finished work showing in a big gallery!

Anyway things have been really GOOD - just crammed with trying to get everything DONE allllll the time, and this HEAT is draining all the energy out of me!!

A Change of Course

Well... I had been planning on spending a bunch of time shooting a few shoots - but plans change! =) I have been so busy lately I haven't even had the time to scout my locations much less shoot with all the models that I have contacted or contacted me... instead all my time has been locked up working with Fatemeh on a bunch of different types of artwork... BUT... today I went out and scouted an old location I had -- the river.

I had figured that I should start shooting there again because I LOVE the shots I get there and it is SO HOT that it would be a GOOD time to shoot there. (Besides all the other photogs are shooting at the beach! hahaha)  So I went to check out the river.... and when I got there I was SHOCKED to see that the water was GONE! - It was all DRY sand!!! I went to investigate it - and the river changed it's direction, and cut a new path...  I was pretty bummed about it because the wild life - plants have not built up along the banks the way that they had before in the old area. The old area is now dry and ugly.... very disappointing!

It totally reminded me of when I had recently written about how nature is always changing... It really has been reminding me that when I have a chance to do something I need to DO it - and do it QUICK!

New Shoot/ Ext. HD

Well, I had a shoot a few days back with a new to me model - It was really cool, but so HOT! It's been too hot lately!! Plus the model and I were talking and she was telling me about some location that I don't think that I knew about... I'll have to check out soon!

When I finished the shoot I went to download the images and realized that my computer is FULL! hahaha I had to go buy another external hard drive -- Since then I have been organizing all my stuff to copy onto it - and backing it up onto both of my back up drives. All the extra room has allowed me to finally scan in a BUNCH of images and stuff that I use to create parts of my artwork. (Just has been eating up so much time! hahaha)  --  Next step is to start deleting everything off the computer - just to have it all clean and super fast! New photos and artwork to come shortly!
